These shoes look even more amazing in person... the picture really doesn't do the colors justice. Especially the swan/metallic heel and swoosh. Depending on how the light hits it, the swoosh turns from a solid gold to an iridescent glitter. The materials on this are also pretty trick.... it's got everything from canvas and nylon to white leather and mesh!! You gotta come see 'em in person to believe it.

DC Self Film Contest

Apparently DC realized that everyone and their grandma knows how to record and edit footage these days. So, they decided to make a contest to win product for the best self filmed, self edited and self shredded video.

Forum Forever Trailer

Seriously, how hot are these?!?!?!

These babies feature a Hyper Verde (green) canvas upper with metallic silver threads weaved throughout to give off a shimmering effect. The green is contrasted by a Rave Pink patent leather Swoosh and laces and a black/grey zebra stripe pattern on the eyelet panels. A white toe section and midsole with a black toe cap finish off the wild look of this Blazer Mid. It might not have an SB label, but if you’re a female fan of the Blazer, these make for an attractive option. Come get some before we are all out!

In the midst of an ever slumping economy, Nike (in collaberation with one of the most famous pop stars on the planet at the moment) is able to release a shoe that has people sleeping outside Foot Lockers across America to be the first to pay $200-300 for the creatures pictured below. Wow. Mark Parker is some kind of magic voodoo genius.

The newest release in the ultra retro Frogskins from Oakley have come in just in time for the sunny days upon us! Eric Koston for Nike SB???

The latest rumors that Eric Koston has left Lakai are confirmed, what's not clear is what is next on his agenda. The first buzz was that Vans would surely be his next stop but a pic taken by Felix Arguilles a few days ago seems to muddle the rumors even more.

The dude is a collector though..... maybe he just digs the shoes??? Whatever the case, I'm sure the K grind will still be solid regardless of what's on his feet.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out on DGK decks.... now at the shop

Mike Tyson's Punch Out was one of the most famous games for Nintendo and it's certainly stood the test of time. DGK has put out a new series of "Lights Out" decks that feature some of the characters that Little Mac had to fight including Von Kaiser, King Hippo, and Tyson himself. Red Bull Manny Mania 2009

The third year of Red Bull Manny Mania kicks off with a bang, descending upon the streets of New York City at the beginning of the summer on June 7, 2009. Manhattan will be the place to be that weekend, with 5boro's legendary Back to the Banks contest and Red Bull Manny Mania taking place Saturday and Sunday, respectively, punctuated with video premieres, parties and the gathering of skaters from around the country.

Rules:
An invite-only contest where 16 pros compete in four-man heats in a jam format. Each skater is given a score reflecting their performance in the entire jam. The top five scores from the entire field will move on to the finals. The final will be the top five skaters in one epic 20 minute jam where they will battle it out until the Manny master is crowned.

Why Manuals: One of the most difficult tricks, a manual requires balance, skill and creativity. With guidelines and manual pads, riders take to the course to see just what two wheeled trickery can get thrown down.

Part of Volume 3 designed by Grant Taylor, features brown leather/ suede design, Rasta flag on tongue as well as red, yellow and green embroidered ants on back.

Nike Dunk Mid Premium SB - "Workwear"
A combo of suede and canvas on the upper in dull beige, black and blue-grey. Design on insoles has printed image of two crossing wrenches with a ribbon and a lighting bolt along with the letters "XXL"... thus indicating where it got its name.

The Dunk SB is modified specifically for skateboarding, featuring a Zoom Air insole for cushioning, padded tongue, and reinforced ollie zones. Special canvas upper with premium leather highlights.

Same as above, a great skate shoe. Colorway is inspired by The Clash frontman Joe Strummer's Fender Telecaster as it was when he first bought it with the 3 colored Sunburst finish. Rudie can't fail!

The Easter Shoe Hunt

It seems as if South of the North wants to give a little love in this hurting economy. This coming Easter weekend they will be hosting The Easter Shoe Hunt in D.C. which gives you the chance to hunt for skate kicks instead of eggs! All you have to do is follow them on Twitter where every hour they will be revealing the location of a pair of shoes hidden somewhere in the city. Bills for Spills was a Success!

Last weekend enclave was part in New Haven's first rail jam called 'Bills for Spills'. Red Bull, Heal Clothing, Hunter Mountain and enclave all teamed up to bring something new to New Haven and for a good cause! All $10 tickets contributed to HEAL.
There was a good turn out plus a lot of people walking to and from dinner that stopped to watch the guys throw down on the set-up. Some were confused, surprised and interested. All in all it was a success! People won a snowboard, others won outerwear and other free goodies. The Red Bull girls were there to make sure everyone had a red bull in their hand and if you were of age, a free red bull cocktail.

The Newest Trend on Snow?

The snowboard season is coming to an end, snow is melting, resorts are closing and I was running out of ideas to blog about for snow UNTIL a friend sent me a link to this website. It made me laugh, it made me wonder and cringe all at the same time. Introducing Boot Chic. The website claims them to be 'swanky' and 'practical' and the 'ability to wow the crowd'.

RIP Shane McConkey.

On March 26 2009 legendary skier, base jumper, father, friend and idol was killed in a base jumping accident in Italy. He was 39 years old. He reportedly experienced problems in the air while filming a ski-base jump with Matchstick productions and Red Bull.

He has been an idol to young skiers and extremists out there and will truly be missed by all. He is survived by his wife Sherry and his 3 1/2 year old daughter.

It is such a sad and tragic accident and just a reminder to all in the extreme sports world that you can't take anything for granted. Shane was a pioneer in the skiing video world with his ground breaking and entertaining segments that inspired so many of the freestyle skiers out there.

Rest in peace. 1969-2009.

US Open '09 Recap

This past week in Stratton, VT was Burton's US Open. A week-long snowboarding event that brings people from both coasts and foreign countries together once a year. It was a good time to see old friends, make new friends and as usual, it was a constant party. RJD2 performed Friday night after the quarter pipe finals and Santogold killed it on Saturday after the half pipe!
On Saturday, March 21 Danny Kass took home his 5th US Open Halfpipe title and Torah Bright earned her third. Sunday held the slopestyle competition, Chas Guldemond (USA) and Kjersti Oestgaard Buaas (NOR) won slope style finals and $20,000 each. Chas Guldemond and Jamie Anderson (USA) are the new Burton Global Open Series Champions, each taking home $100,000. Check out www.burton.com for more information and details!

US Open :: Do not Miss This!

Alright folks, spring riding is here and the end of the season is near... And the biggest snowboarding event of the year is going on this week with the finals this weekend in Stratton, VT.
